Location details and information
DeSoto Rifle & Pistol Club has operated since 2010 as a members-only facility near Como in Panola County, claiming the largest shooting complex in Mississippi. Located at 7171 Compress Road, the club keeps facilities open from sunrise to sunset every day for members, with a Range Safety Officer on duty Tuesday through Sunday (8 AM–4 PM during Daylight Saving, 8 AM–5 PM otherwise).
Club members compete in multiple organized events throughout the year:
Matches and events typically start at 8 AM. Sign up through Practiscore or contact the specific match director.
Offered regularly at $85, this one-day course satisfies state requirements for obtaining an "IC" (enhanced) endorsement on a Mississippi concealed carry permit. Classes run 8:30 AM to approximately 4–5 PM, include classroom study and practical shooting exercises, and come with all classroom materials. Students need to bring a concealed-carry-suitable pistol or revolver plus 50–100 rounds of ammunition. Minimum enrollment is six students.
The club maintains a clubhouse with lounge facilities and a dedicated training room for classes and clinics.
New member orientations and range tours occur Tuesday–Sunday from 9 AM to 2 PM only, ensuring the RSO remains focused on safety operations. Prospective members can visit the facility during these windows to learn about the range layout, rules, and membership options.
Beyond competitive shooting, DeSoto Rifle & Pistol Club supports community causes through Tornado Disaster Relief efforts and the NWCC Scholarship Fund.
"We are a private members-only range complex with facilities open to members 365 days a year from sunrise to sunset. We also offer several training courses, clinics and competitions that are open to the public."
Note: No phone line at the range. Contact the board through their website.
