Black Box Customs operates out of Calgary, AB, serving Canadian shooters without the complications of cross-border shopping. They've been pushing the envelope since 2014—starting with competitive shooting and expanding to work with elite law enforcement and military units who demand advanced customization.
Three core services anchor their operation:
- •Cerakote Finishing - ~100 colors in stock, with options for single-color, battleworn/FX, camo patterns, and themed designs
- •Frame Work - Hand-pressed stippling, magazine release cuts, undercuts, and custom engravings on frames, grips, rails, magazines, and more
- •Milling - Slide serrations, lightening cuts, frame reductions, trigger guard undercuts, optics mounting cut-outs
They also stock a curated selection of firearms and accessories, and will install aftermarket parts during projects at no charge (if no fitting required).

"Quality doesn't happen by accident. It can't be reached by taking shortcuts." Every stipple is pressed by hand to depth and pattern depending on the result you're after. They offer variations: Basic, Essential, Enhanced, and Deluxe stippling in fine point.
- •Legacy Front Cocking Serrations ($100) - For press checks off the front. Slant or straight cut. Factory markings maintained.
- •Patrol Recessed Cocking Serrations ($100) - Factory markings removed, then cut for serrations. Slant or straight.

Their portfolio spans Glocks (Gen 3/4), Springfield Armory 1911s, Sig Sauer handguns, Daniel Defense AR-15s, NightHawk Customs 1911s, Walther PPQ, bolt-action hunting rifles, and shotguns. Recent projects include complex work like custom engraving (Maple Leaf, cats, themes), optic cuts with fitting (DeltaPoint Pro, RMR, Venom), and multi-finish cerakote combinations.
No payment until work is completed (except for firearms or parts purchases). Most services include free return shipping. Oversized items or discounted projects are charged at Canada Post Expedited or Xpresspost rates.
Every project is inspected before leaving the workshop to meet their standards. If something arrives wrong, they'll make it right.
