Gunslingers Shooting Center opened in 2017 when Zach and Joslyn Tate recognized Columbus needed more than just a gun range—it needed a place committed to teaching responsible ownership and firearm proficiency. Operating as a locally owned business, they built Gunslingers to be exactly that: neighbors and fellow enthusiasts who know what responsible gun ownership looks like.
The facility operates an indoor shooting range featuring:
Both are set up for controlled, supervised shooting. The range enforces strict safety protocols and operates under a Range Officer who maintains command of the facility at all times.
Gunslingers stocks close to 100 rental firearms. Here's what you can try:
Handgun Rentals: $20 - Try as many handguns as you like during your visit - Includes popular self-defense and concealed carry options - Perfect for testing before you buy
Rifle Rentals: $30 - Variety of rifles with popular optics and sights already installed - Test gear you're considering purchasing - Includes specialty options like .50 BMG sniper rifles
Fully Automatic Machine Guns - Available for those looking to experience more unique firearms
Rental firearms let you try expensive gear without commitment. Test that $2,000 optic or that exotic caliber before dropping cash.

Gunslingers offers comprehensive training tailored to all skill levels:
Professional training by Gunslingers personnel only. No outside instructors permitted on the range.
Safety Requirements: - Ear and eye protection mandatory at all times (unless directed otherwise by Range Officer) - Firearms unloaded and cased when not on firing line (CCW permit holders and uniformed law enforcement exempt, but must remain holstered) - Always point firearms downrange—even when removing from or placing in case - No uncontrolled rapid fire. You control the firearm at all times. - Drawing from holster prohibited unless approved by Range Staff
Age Restrictions: - 11-18 years: Must have parent or legal guardian present - 18+ to shoot personal handguns or rent long guns - 21+ to rent or purchase handguns, or purchase handgun ammunition
Ammunition Policy (No Exceptions): - ❌ NO steel-core ammunition - ❌ NO tracer ammunition - ❌ NO steel or aluminum cased ammo - ✓ ONLY slugs allowed through shotguns (no birdshot, buckshot, etc.)
Other Rules: - All targets must be at eye level - No food or drink in range area - No smoking or smokeless tobacco in facility - Shell casings: sweep past firing line or place in brass containers - You may only collect your own brass
