Full description and what we offer
Moose's Gunsmithing operates on a strict job-shop model: you call or email to schedule an appointment, bring your rifle in, and they examine it in person before quoting work. No walk-ins, no phone estimates. This isn't laziness—it's the only way to give accurate pricing when every gun comes in with different issues.
"Email is always preferred. The phone often cannot be heard over our work."
They charge for tools custom-made for one-off jobs. They bill for ammunition consumed during test firing. They require deposits on special-order parts and stocks. This isn't unusual—it's standard practice for specialty machine shops that do precision work. If a firearm has safety issues, it comes back disassembled or inoperable.
They refuse work on rimfires, inline muzzleloaders, and a long list of firearms they consider unreliable or unsafe:
| Lead Time | Payment Terms | Shipping |
|---|---|---|
| 2-12 weeks (wood work longer) | Full payment within 2 weeks | Hard case required; shipped via UPS/FedEx with signature |
Ship in a hard case. The extra cost saves both of you shipping damage and broken stocks.
Email (preferred): [email protected] Phone: 603-800-2282 Address: 65 NH RT 118, Unit G, Canaan, NH 03741
