Full description and what we offer
The Village Gun Store opened in June 1974 as a true mom-and-pop operation run by Stan and Sandy Holz. That foundation—low prices, great customer service, and honesty—still defines the place today.
Current owner Josh Dagnese took over in 2015 after a 12.5-year Army career as an infantryman with the 10th Mountain Division's Recon unit, including two tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. He grew up in the NH Lakes Region on a farm, traveled gun shows with his father (a licensed dealer), and has a collector's passion for military history and antiques. The result: a well-rounded gun store that handles competition, hunting, defense, and collecting.
Named New Hampshire's Veteran Owned Small Business of the Year (2019) by the SBA
Regularly carries Glock, Remington, Winchester, Sig Sauer, Ruger, Savage, Smith & Wesson, Browning, Benelli, CZ, Henry, Springfield Armory, Kimber, Para-Ordnance, and many others. Also stocks Hornady, Federal, Winchester ammunition and powders (Alliant, Hodgdon, Accurate). Can special-order anything not in stock.
Josh genuinely loves teaching military history and antique firearms. Customers consistently mention walking out having learned something. The store displays and sells military pieces and equipment—ask about local Rogers Rangers lore. You're not just buying a gun; you're getting knowledge from someone who lived it.
Last Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in June: additional 10% off at the register.
