Location details and information

Cherry Ridge Range, owned by the Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs, has occupied this Highland Lakes property since 1935. The site includes a paved access road, a clubhouse built in the early 1980s with a kitchen and meeting area, and a range store that rents and sells targets, clay bird throwers, and shooting accessories, but not ammunition or firearms. New members must complete a range safety orientation before using any range.

The handgun range has 25- and 50-yard target stands with turning targets at 25 yards, thirty-seven firing ports, and holster-draw ports for certified members. The rifle range covers 25, 50, and 100 yards plus 50 meters across seventy firing positions, split between smallbore and black powder sections, with a shed for match scoring.

A multi-purpose range restricted to .22 rimfire rifles and pistols supports informal falling-plate shooting. A high power range reaches 200 and 300 yards with target pits, and a shotgun range runs automatic throwers plus a five-stand setup. Three archery ranges round out the property, including a year-round course with bag targets from 10 to 50 yards.
