Franklin Rifle & Revolver Association earned the NRA Outstanding Club Award for its commitment to organized shooting sports and firearm safety education. Located on Buckwheat Road in Franklin, NJ, this private club operates a practical 25-yard range designed for serious practice.
- •Range Setup: 24 covered shooting ports with a hybrid design that handles everything from close-range qualifying to standard distance work. The winter advantage—the firing line is fully enclosed and heated, so the range stays open year-round. A new outdoor 50-75-100 yard range is coming soon.
- •Regular Competition: Sunday mornings bring members together for bullseye target leagues (handgun and .22 rifle). The third Sunday each month swaps leagues for Precision Matches. Combat Pistol Matches run the first Saturday of every month—nonmembers can attend.
Signature Events: > May Match attracts regional shooters for competitive events, while the September John Heller Memorial Match honors the club's legacy
The club hosts free community events that show up on the range:
- •Junior Rifle Program (July-August Tuesday evenings): Ages 12+ learn fundamentals at no cost
- •Girls, Guys, & Guns (several times yearly): Firearm safety and hands-on shooting for adults new to the range
- •Monthly clubhouse meetings with occasional potlucks
With over 150 active members, FR&R leverages NRA funding for range improvements and community programs. The club offers NRA membership discounts:
