Helderberg Rod and Gun Club

Operating since 1948, the Helderberg Rod & Gun Club has built a reputation around safety, education, and stewardship. Located 3 miles west of Altamont in Knox, New York, this not-for-profit sportsmen's club serves shooters of all disciplines with serious facilities and year-round programming.

The club maintains seven distinct shooting areas:

• •Heated 50 ft. Indoor Range — Pistol, .22 rifle, air rifle, and archery
• •Covered Outdoor Bench Rest Range — 100 and 200 yard shooting
• •Trap Range — Dedicated clay shooting
• •3-D Archery Area — Both standard and 3D courses
• •Small Game & Deer Hunting Area — Natural hunting ground on club property
• •Meeting Room & Covered Picnic Pavilion — Events and gatherings
• •Nature Trails & Pond — Grounds for recreational use

The club runs regular competitive shoots and instruction:

• •Monday Nights — Indoor Bullseye Pistol League (7 PM)
• •Wednesday Nights — Indoor Sporter Rifle League (6:30 PM)
• •Capital District Pistol League — .22 and centerfire competition
• •Trap Shooting — Regular matches and fun shoots
• •Safety Training — Pistol and hunter safety classes
• •Shotgun Seminars — Trap-specific instruction

Membership is limited and application-based. General membership meetings are required before approval, but no payment is due until acceptance.

Initial application includes a one-time $50 fee plus $5 key-card fee.
