Full description and what we offer
Tarjac H2O started in 1989 when founder Larry Salerno used an airbrushing process to improve camo finishes on hunting bows. That one modification turned into a thriving business. Today, after being purchased by three long-term employees in recent years, Tarjac H2O continues serving the outdoor industry with professional-grade finishing.
Tarjac H2O offers three primary finishing methods:
- •Cerakote® - Ceramic coating for firearms, bows, scopes, and other components. Prices range from $105 for a complete pistol to $360 for a complete AR. They stock dozens of standard colors including Gloss Black, Armor Black, Coyote Tan, O.D. Green, MagPul Flat Dark Earth, and Tungsten. Special-order colors available for a $50+ fee.
- •Hydrographics - Water-transfer printing for camo patterns, wood grain, carbon fiber, and designer patterns. Used to apply thousands of patterns to consumer products. Complete rifles run $195, complete shotguns $195, complete ARs $265, complete pistols $105.
- •Powder Coating - Traditional powder coat finishes available alongside their signature Cerakote work.
They also offer custom painting and a Teflon coating that's new to their services.
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Camo Patterns | Mossy Oak variants, Muddy Girl, Multicam, Max 5, Kryptek patterns |
| Designer Patterns | Marble finishes, Carbon fiber, Snakeskin, Skull designs, Flag patterns |
| Cerakote Colors | 50+ standard colors; unlimited special orders |

First responders and military get 10% discount on all services.
Customers mail in disassembled components (or drop off locally in Waterloo). Tarjac H2O handles the finishing and returns items via UPS. Standard turnaround is 35-45 business days. They also offer expedited service in 10 business days for a 60% upcharge, which includes 3-day return shipping.
- •Important: Customers must disassemble firearms before shipping. For Cerakote, all movable parts including sights and trigger assembly must be removed. For hydrographics, just trigger housing and bolt need removal.
- •Metal Imperfection Repair - Tarjac can fix rust, pitting, and surface damage before finishing
- •Scope & Optic Finishing - They handle complete scopes, ring sets, and mounts ($75-90 for Cerakote on a full scope)
- •Game Animal Skulls - Specialized pricing for trophy finishing (small skulls $55-65, large skulls $115-135)
- •Custom Two-Tone Work - Combined hydro-dip and Cerakote designs from $240-290
- •Sub-Assembly Services - They'll disassemble and reassemble firearms after coating if needed
- •35+ Years in the Industry - Started before hydrographics was even available to consumers

"I could not be happier with the Cerakote job you did on my Ruger Mini-14 Ranch rifle... This rifle now looks like brand new." — Ed Borghi, NY
"The first gobbler taken with your dip/cerakote job. Thanks for the great work." — John Cearlock, IL
- •Finish Care: Tarjac recommends continuing with the manufacturer's suggested care products. Avoid DEET-based bug sprays and extended solvent soaking. Use Remington oil or similar spray for firearms.
