Dakota Bandit Designs makes cool stuff—that's their philosophy, plain and simple. Located in Wahpeton, North Dakota, they specialize in custom 1911 pistols and AR-15s with distinctive engraved designs and professional Cerakote finishing.
Their catalog includes 25+ named designs:

- •Models from SDS and Girsan platforms
Every gun ships with 2 magazines and a custom case. Popular designs include "Freedom," "Zombie Killer," "Joker," "Don't Tread on Me," military tribute 1911s (Army, Navy, Marine 250th anniversary), and pop culture themes.
All firearms in stock ship within 1-2 days. Every package is insured for transit—not optional, included standard.
Shipping costs more because Dakota Bandit covers the full insurance cost themselves. They won't leave you hanging if a package gets lost or stolen. The hazmat fee listed at checkout ($25 standard for pistols) covers insured shipping; additional insurance options are optional.

Their Cerakote work is extremely durable. According to their FAQ, it takes heavy sandblasting to remove it—they've only had to redo a few guns in their history. Common finishes include solid colors and custom two-tone combinations.

Guns actually work. Dakota Bandit's response to "Are these guns working?" is direct: "Firearms are pretty useless unless they work. What a stupid question. Of course they work."
They use quality base platforms (SDS, Girsan, Magnum Research) and add professional engraving and Cerakote finishing. Every gun is tested before shipping.
Cancel before shipment? There's a 15% "Damn it I already started it" fee. Once work begins, you're committed.
