McKenzie County Sportsman's Club

Founded after Brooks and Carol Kummer donated the land for a range built around outdoor education, the club operates as a nonprofit alongside a linked 501(c)3 education center that accepts tax-deductible support. Grant funding has come through the Pittman-Robertson Act, McKenzie County, and area businesses, and a second parcel donated by the Kummers is earmarked for a further expansion of the grounds.

The property has three separate rifle ranges built out to 100, 200, and 300 yards, a rimfire-only 100-yard range restricted to .22 LR, a 25-yard pistol range, and a trap range with three houses. Archery is served by two ranges: an indoor 65-yard range inside an 80-by-235-foot heated and air-conditioned building, and a 14-station outdoor range set outside the perimeter fence, both limited to field points with no broadheads. A classroom seating 40 supports the club's youth programs, including a 4-H archery group (Badlands Bullseyes) and a school trap team (Watford City Wolves).
