Full description and what we offer
The Ohio State Trapshooting Association (OSTA) is one of the oldest and most respected trapshooting organizations in the United States, with a storied history dating back to 1887. We are dedicated to promoting trapshooting as an enjoyable sport with a signature commitment to safety and good sportsmanship.
OSTA provides comprehensive trapshooting opportunities and programs throughout Ohio:
Ohio has always been a trapshooting powerhouse. Our state produced George Ligowsky, who invented the first clay target in 1880. The OSTA has been instrumental in advancing the sport, from the development of automatic trap machines to pioneering women's shooting clubs and the introduction of doubles trap.
OSTA serves Ohio shooters and gun clubs through: - Shoot calendar coordination and registration - ATA registered shoot and league administration - Board of Directors oversight and governance - State shoot results tracking - Foundation and scholarship programs - Hall of Fame recognition
To register a shoot or league, contact OSTA Secretary Noreen Snively. Current membership dues ($25 annually) are required for shoot registration.
