Camp Perry in Port Clinton, Ohio isn't just any shooting range—it's been the home of the National Rifle & Pistol Matches since 1907. The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) operates several outdoor and indoor ranges on the property, leased from the Ohio National Guard.
Outdoor Ranges - Rodriguez Range (600 yards) and Viale Range (1,000 yards): Historic firing lines that have hosted thousands of competitors through the National Matches. CMP uses electronic targets here for various rifle events. - Petrarca Range: Covered firing line with CMP electronic targets. Open to the public weekly from early spring through mid-November for both rifle and pistol use.
Indoor Facility - Gary Anderson CMP Competition Center: 80-point electronic target line for air rifle and air pistol. Open year-round for weekly public access and hosts local, state, and national-level air gun events.
Competitors fire on Kongsberg Electronic Targets (KTS)—each shot is registered and displays score value on a monitor beside the shooter. This system is used for major matches including the annual National Matches each summer.
The ranges are only open to the public during CMP-conducted events. Check the event calendar for upcoming matches and public shooting opportunities.
