Full description and what we offer

Ponca City Rifle & Pistol Club started in 1952 using a VFW-leased range in the city for just $35 a year. By the early 2000s, the club needed more—they got an NRA grant to build a pistol bay. Then development happened. Over 50 members showed up to zoning hearings, but the law didn't protect them. In January 2006, PCR&PC voluntarily closed to protect public safety rather than risk it.

For two years, members searched for land. One member cosigned a loan, they built a business plan, and eventually bought the current property at 13503 Q St, Tonkawa, OK 74653 in southern Kay County. Volunteers built fences, renovated a 30x40 metal clubhouse, and opened on Labor Day 2008.

Location: Between Ponca City and Tonkawa, serving north central Oklahoma and south central Kansas. GPS: N 36° 37.804 W 97° 13.710
