Established in 1952, Sand Springs Sportsman Club operates as a private members-only facility serving shooters across Oklahoma. Their mission centers on conservation of natural resources, development of sportsmanship, and promotion of hunting and shooting sports.

Membership is limited and reviewed annually by the Board of Directors, with new applications typically considered during August club meetings. The club does not accept new members year-round—membership openings are announced when available. Current members renew annually by mail-in form.

250-Yard Rifle & Pistol Range - Open 7 days a week, sunrise to sunset - Free for members (no per-visit fees) - Suitable for hunters sighting optics before season - Competitive shooters zeroing rifles for precision events - Gongs available at 200-yard distance - Blue/Red light system coordinates with trap and skeet fields for safe range operations - Range Safety Officer protocols ensure all shooters downrange have clear, verified safe conditions

2 Regulation Trap & Skeet Fields - Governed by National Skeet Shooting Association (NSSA) and Amateur Trap Association (ATA) rules - Skeet Field #1 available for night shooting with field lights on - North Trap field (Field #1) remains open during rifle/pistol range operations - South field (Field #2) coordinates with rifle/pistol shooters using light/horn safety signals - Open 7 days a week, sunrise to sunset (Skeet Field #1 extends to after dark with lights) - Firearms must remain unloaded until you're on the shooting pad - Maximum 2 shells loaded for skeet (1 shell on pad 8), 1-2 shells for trap depending on format

During club events on Saturday mornings, trap and skeet fields close until noon (North Trap field stays open). Competition shooters follow NSSA and ATA regulations for tournament play.

Critical Safety Rules - Eye and hearing protection mandatory at all times - No loaded firearms carried openly (except uniformed law enforcement) - Holstered pistols must be unloaded with no magazine inserted - All long guns transported unloaded with action open - Zero alcohol on club property—violators are immediately removed - Members designate a Range Safety Officer when multiple shooters are present - Fully automatic weapons and bump-fire systems prohibited - No explosive targets, glass, brick, or concrete blocks

Metal Target Rules: - Hard targets allowed 200+ yards from firing line for centerfire rifles - Hard targets allowed 50+ yards from firing line for muzzle loaders, centerfire pistols, and .22s - Air gun targets allowed 25+ yards from firing line

Guest Policy: - Members may bring up to 2 non-family guests per visit - Guests must be supervised and remain on same range as member - Member is responsible for ensuring guests follow all posted range rules - No fast-draw shooting allowed (holster tie-downs prohibited) - Shooting from holster allowed for PPC, IDPA, IPSC courses and police training

Who Can Join: - US citizens 18 years or older - Spouses of members - Legal dependent children (under adult member supervision)

Member Types: - Annual Members: Full voting rights - Senior Members (65+ with 5+ years membership): Half annual dues - Life Members (grandfather clause through 12/31/2020): No dues required
