Full description and what we offer
Traditional Archers of Oregon brings together bowhunters and archers committed to the longbow and recurve bow. Rather than operate as a single location, TAO coordinates five affiliate clubs throughout Oregon—each hosting regular events and building community at the local level.
Black Rose Traditional Archers (Portland) focuses on technique, safety, and ethics training for traditional bowhunters looking to master primitive equipment.
Eagle Cap Traditional Archers (La Grande) hosts the Rendezvous at the River 3-D Shoot each June plus annual youth outdoor days. They keep members connected through The Bent Shaft newsletter.
Stott Mountain Traditional Archers (Dallas) emphasizes fair-chase hunting and conservation—members volunteer with the Salmon Trout Enhancement Program. Wednesday night BBQs and shooting run May through archery season, plus spring rabbit hunts to eastern Oregon.
The Adventurous Bowmen (Eugene/Springfield area) meet monthly for technique instruction, story swaps, and friendly competition. Annual events include a Pope & Young Shoot barbeque and summer 3-D shoot at a member's property.
Traditional Archers of Central Oregon (Bend/Redmond/Prineville) celebrates camaraderie and festive atmosphere. They host the STICK & SAGE 3-D Shoot in June featuring the World Championship Milk Jug Competition. TACO also runs a Family Archery Class introducing new shooters to the sport, and hosts Traditional Night every Wednesday at the Bend Bowmen indoor range.
Looking to join? Contact your nearest affiliate club directly—each has its own email and leadership. TAO provides the network; local clubs provide the community.
