Chieftain Archery Club

Chieftain Archery Club has been operating since 1955, making it a long-standing fixture in the New Kensington archery community. The club maintains dual indoor ranges and hosts everything from casual open shoots to sanctioned competitive events.

Regular Programs & Shoots: - JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) - Monday evenings 6-8 PM, October through March - Flint Round competitions - Tuesday evenings 6-8 PM, January through March - Open Shoot - Thursday evenings 6-8 PM for general membership - Youth Shoot - Friday evenings 6-9 PM (both ranges), year-round - Scout Programs - Troop 501 meetings Tuesday evenings 7-8:30 PM - Members Meetings - Third Monday of each month, 7-8 PM

In 2016, Chieftain hosted the PSAA Southwest Regional Bowhunter/Animal Round—potentially the first regional field round held at the club in decades. This event was open to archers from any PSAA region and non-members as guests.

Chieftain's focus centers on four core goals: - Foster and expand archery practice and fellowship among archers - Encourage bowhunting and work with conservation groups on hunting regulations - Support game and forest land conservation - Maintain field courses and sponsor tournaments

The club operates dual indoor ranges (upstairs and downstairs) and maintains an outdoor field course used for tournament preparation and competition shoots.
