Southern Lancaster County Farmer-Sportsmen's Association

Southern Lancaster County Farmer-Sportsmen's Association operates shooting facilities for rifle, pistol, shotgun (trap), and archery. The club hosts organized shooting activities year-round, from casual .22 Wednesday shoots to sanctioned competitions in bullseye pistol, CMP rifle events, cowboy action, and 3D archery.

• •Hunter/Trapper Safety - Certified since 1968, offered three times yearly. Covers laws, firearm/bow selection by species, game anatomy, and wilderness survival. Certification valid in most states.

• •Bleeding Control Classes - Free public seminars (1.5-2 hours) teaching emergency response for vehicle accidents, falls, and trauma. Hands-on training with certified instructors from local EMS and trauma teams. Bleeding control kits available for purchase.

• •Gun Shows - Spring show March 14-15, 2026 at the clubhouse (742 Hollow Road, New Providence, PA 17560). $5 daily admission, free parking. Vendor tables $25, overnight security provided. Contact Leda Warfel at (717) 201-2514.

• •John Strawser Kids' Fishing Derby - Historic summertime event (temporarily discontinued pending pond renovation). Long-running tradition dating to 1971.

• •Fair Booth Presence - SLCFSA maintains an educational booth at local fairs displaying native woods, wildlife mounts and pelts, and information on club activities for ages 5-105.

SLCFSA is the longest-running sponsor of the Miss Solanco Scholarship Pageant, supporting young women in education and community leadership since 1959.
