Northern Chester County Sportsmen's Club sits on 343 Hopewell Road in Elverson, Pennsylvania—one mile east of the historic Hopewell Furnace and surrounded by French Creek State Park. The club is family-oriented and volunteer-operated, drawing shooters from surrounding Chester County communities.
Rifle Ranges - Three outdoor rifle ranges - 25-yard, 50-yard, and 150-yard distances - Steel target capable with specific distance minimums - Centerfire and .22 rifle shooting
Pistol Facilities - Indoor 15-yard pistol bay (pistol caliber only) - Outdoor 25-yard and 50-yard ranges for handguns - Steel targets allowed at specified distances
Trap & Shotgun - Trap field with singles, doubles, and wobble shooting - 7.5 and 8 shot shells only on trap range
Archery - Dedicated archery range - Longbow and crossbow shooting

Dusk is defined as one-half hour after sunset as posted on the NCCSC website. Ranges close during deer season (two weeks following Thanksgiving, except Sundays) and monthly volunteer workdays (third Saturday of each month, Jan-Nov).
Members-Only Competitions - Steel Challenge Shoot: Free event styled after IDPA defensive formats. Pistol stages on the 25-yard range (2 stages, 8-10 rounds each, 1+ magazine changes). Shotgun stages on trap range (4 stages, 5 shots each). Handgun calibers .22-45 welcome (no magnum loads). Shotgun shells available for $11/box if needed. Shotguns available to borrow. - Field Day Competition: Competitive shooting event - Zombie Pumpkin Apocalypse: Specialty themed shoot - Steel Shoot Challenge

NRA Rules of Firearm Safety are enforced at all times: - All muzzles must point downrange into earthen berms behind the permanent target line—no exceptions - Firearms must be cased or holstered when moved within club grounds - Eye and ear protection required - No handling of firearms when anyone is downrange - Actions kept clear and open when not shooting - Cease-fire procedures managed by members to allow target changes
Prohibited at NCCSC - Alcohol and recreational drugs (drug and alcohol-free facility) - Explosive targets, fireworks, homemade bombs, propane tanks, aerosol cans - Glass or fractious targets - Tracer, explosive, or incendiary ammunition - Full automatic fire - .50 BMG or larger cartridges - Federal or state prohibited firearms
Members follow written etiquette guidelines: - Greet fellow shooters at the firing line - Keep firearms unloaded unless in active use - Display open chambers/cylinders while not shooting - Allow ~10 minutes shooting with ~5-minute ceasefire for target changes - Offer to let others shoot your firearm (and vice versa) - Bring extra hearing protection and supplies to share - Police brass, targets, and trash—leave no trace - Maintain arms-length supervision of minor children
The club operates entirely through volunteer effort. Members receive: - Access to all ranges during posted hours - Entry to members-only competitive events - Participation in annual Fall Gun Raffle (prize drawings held in September) - Access to member classifieds and firearms sales board - Involvement in membership meetings (typically held monthly)
Renewal periods are managed online to reduce volunteer processing hours.
