Wilkes-Barre Rifle & Pistol Club has been operating since 1923, originally located in downtown Wilkes-Barre before relocating to Hunlock's Creek in 1948. The club maintains serious competitive infrastructure with over 40 rifle bays on a 300-yard range, a separate handgun range accommodating up to 20 pistols, and 3 utility ranges.
While membership is required for general range access, all sanctioned events are open to the public. No prior experience needed—spectators are welcome to watch and ask questions.

Bring eye and ear protection to all events. The membership includes shooters with 20-40 years of experience.
Regular recreational matches feature multiple divisions: muzzleloader (open sights), centerfire rifle, field pistol, .22 sporter, and open-sight classes. Matches run $3.00 per shooter with prizes for top finishers. Food, beverages, and desserts available in the clubhouse.
