Full description and what we offer
D & C Arms is a small family-owned operation in the Redbank community outside Lexington. Don Shealy runs the shop with a straightforward philosophy: Do No Harm and Be Safe, Prepared, and Responsible. That's not marketing copy—it's how he structures everything.
They offer two main training paths:
Basic Pistol Training ($50 for 2 hours) is for shooters who need fundamentals before pursuing their CWP. You'll learn to handle, load, unload, and safely fire a handgun. Classes run Tuesdays and Thursdays 6pm–8pm, plus as-needed sessions. Limited seating.
SC Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP) Classes ($80) run the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month, 8am–4:30pm. This is not a beginner class—you need to arrive familiar with your firearm and ready to qualify on the range. SLED-certified instruction. After completion, D & C handles your paperwork and walks you through the IdentoGo digital fingerprinting process.
Shealy is NRA-certified for Basic Pistol and SLED-certified for CWP instruction. One-on-one gun cleaning and maintenance training is also available ($50, 2 hours).
Knife sharpening is also offered
By Appointment Only — Call (803) 730-3212 to schedule. Classes fill up, and custom work requires advance notice.
