Archery Training Center started in 1995 at a bowhunting range in North Austin when there was no consistent, recognized method for teaching Olympic target archery. In 2008, they adopted the National Training System (NTS)—the biomechanically efficient method developed by USA Archery's National Head Coach KiSik Lee—and have been coaching it ever since.
USA Archery Level 4 NTS Coach Racae Meyer directs the operation and has personally coached and trained over 8,500 archers, producing:
Every instructor and coach on staff holds USA Archery certification (Level 1-4), CPR certification, U.S. Center for Safe Sport certification, federal and state background checks, and has completed ATCI's own instructor training program.
Indoor Program (9m distance) - Indoor 1: First-time Class — Introductory group instruction covering setup, basic NTS form, safety, scoring. All equipment provided. - Indoor 2 — More individualized coaching on NTS steps. Focus rotates weekly through different form components. Max 8 archers per class.
Outdoor Programs (13.5m to 70m) - Outdoor 3 (13.5m) — Begin advanced NTS Shot Cycle steps - Outdoor 4+ (20m-70m) — Competitive preparation at progressively longer distances - Progression requirement: Score 240 pts on 60-cm JOAD face or 230 pts on 40-cm FITA face to advance
Specialized Offerings - Virtual lessons for juniors (12+) and adults: $75/hour or $40/30-min session - Virtual lesson types: Evaluation, NTS Form, Equipment Specifying & Setup, Goal Setting, Mental Management - Private coaching with Coach Racae - Clinics for competitive archers - USA Archery Instructor/Coach practical certification courses - Corporate team building archery events - Monthly competitions (last weekend of each month, Outdoor 3-9 levels) - Annual Archers of the Year Banquet (mid-August)
Group class size: Maximum 8 archers per class with reserved shooting line spots after registration, membership, waivers, and fees are complete.

Coach Racae Meyer Background: Before founding ATCI, she was a corporate interior architect and facilities director practicing in London, San Francisco, and Manhattan (including Interior Design Director at Marcel Breuer Architects). She created and taught Construction Project Management at NYU and chaired the Awards Committee for BOMA of Greater New York City.
