Full description and what we offer
Austin Rifle Club, Inc. is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to shooting sports and firearm safety education. Incorporated in 1928, ARC has been serving Central Texas shooters for over 130 years with a club-owned tract of land developed for multiple shooting disciplines.
| Membership Type | Annual Dues | Initiation Fee | Coverage |

| Individual | $150 | $200 | Unlimited range access |
| Family | $200 | $200 | Couple + all children under 21 |
| Spouse Add-On | $25 | — | Secondary adult to primary member |
| Junior Add-On | $10 per child | — | Children/grandchildren under 21 |
First year dues are prorated by join date. No hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly passes—memberships are annual only. Background check fee is $15 unless you present a valid Texas License to Carry.
The membership process takes approximately 30 days: attend monthly new member orientation, complete a one-on-one safety evaluation with a Range Safety Officer, pass the range orientation class, and receive your gate access badge.
ARC operates ranges supporting:
Range hours: 7 days a week, 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset (holidays included). After-hours property access is allowed but shooting is not permitted.
Legal NFA firearms welcome: Suppressors, SBRs, and SBS are permitted. Machine gun fire and simulated machine gun fire (bumpfire, FRTs) are not allowed.
ARC members have access to monthly calendars listing:
Matches and classes may have associated fees beyond membership dues. Certified instructors can reserve the classroom and Range G for approved commercial instruction.
Members tap their badge on a keypad at the gate (accessible through driver's side window). A triple beep means access granted; a long solid beep indicates lapsed membership or suspended access. Always scan your badge entering and exiting—do not allow tailgating or follow other vehicles through.
Guest policy: Only members and their signed-in guests may shoot. Guests must be directly supervised by a full member with limits (typically twice per year; new members cannot bring guests). Family memberships include spouse as a full independent member and all children.
Parking: Designated areas at each range. North side creek areas have assigned parking; south side bays use a service road system to keep it clear.
The club does not sell ammunition, targets, or supplies. Members must bring everything they need. For ranges B, H, I, J, K, and L, target sticks (typically $1-2 from hardware stores, 5 feet long with rounded corners) are standard. Some ranges have fixed target frames available, and used cardboard is usually available in the used-target cages.
Full Range Rules document updated March 2025 and Firearm Use by Range chart (December 2025) are available on the website.
Renewal notices are sent in early October each year—members have until December 31st to renew before losing gate access on January 1st. Renewal is handled online through the Member Area. Members who lapse for two or more years must rejoin as new members. There is no penalty for late renewal, but access is restored after one business day.
