G 2 Ranch

Located 60 minutes southwest of San Antonio in Pearsall, G2 Ranch operates as a full-service hunting resort with lodging for up to 130 guests. Owner Don Gilchrist transformed his lifelong passion for hunting into one of South Texas's most respected outfitters, establishing the operation in 2004 with expertise in deer breeding and trophy selection.

G2 Ranch harvests more trophy whitetail deer than any other ranch in Texas, a distinction backed by their win as the 2019 Los Cazadores 1st place Archery High Fence Division and Best Overall Deer champion. The operation manages both high-fence and low-fence hunting across terrain naturally suited to growing healthy bucks—the region's diverse grass and shrub varieties create ideal conditions for antler development according to Texas Parks and Wildlife.

The main lodge features a massive stone fireplace, 20-foot granite bar, pool table, four televisions for sports, and poker table. Outdoor amenities span over 1,500 square feet of covered patio with big-screen TV, game tables, shooting arcade, elevated golf driving range, putting green, custom fire pit, and a 20-foot overlook for sunset toasts.

Executive chefs prepare continental breakfasts, lunch buffets, and multi-course dinners featuring fresh, locally-sourced Texas cuisine. Every meal includes salad and dessert. All beverages are included—soft drinks, premium coffees, craft beers, fine wines, handcrafted cocktails. Meals can be customized at time of booking.

G2 Ranch accommodates corporate retreats, team-building events, and special occasions for groups up to 130 people. Lodging, meals, beverages, and all amenities are available. A 50% deposit is required upon contract signing. Special pricing available for large groups.

Non-hunting guests pay $250/night (bunkhouse) or $350/night (suite). Extra night charges are $500 per person for hunters. Deposits for $2,000 are due within 30 days of booking. All deposits are non-refundable. Due to wildlife market fluctuations, exotic prices are subject to change.

Don Gilchrist's passion for hunting began in childhood—from receiving shotgun shells for Christmas to riding across Texas with his father and hunting dogs. What fascinated him most was understanding why South Texas bucks looked so different from East Texas deer. That curiosity led him to invest in deer breeding and establish G2 Ranch. "You only get out what you put in," Gilchrist says. "A lot of heart, by a lot of folks, has been put into creating G2 Ranch."

G2 Ranch adheres to the Ten Commandments of Hunting Safety: 1. Always point the muzzle in a safe direction 2. Treat every firearm or bow with the same respect as a loaded gun 3. Be sure of your target and what's beyond it 4. Unload firearms when not in use 5. Handle firearms and ammunition carefully 6. Know your safe zone-of-fire 7. Control emotions regarding safety 8. Wear hearing and eye protection 9. No alcohol or drugs while handling firearms or bows 10. Be aware of additional safety circumstances
