Full description and what we offer

Hill Country Bow Hunters (HCB) runs eight monthly 3D archery tournaments between February and September at their range in Liberty Hill. The organization also hosts ASA (Archery Shooters Association) qualifying tournaments, Traditional Bowhunters of Texas (TBoT) events, and Williamson County 4H Shooting Sports Club competitions. All proceeds beyond operating costs go directly to their Youth Outdoor Awards Program.

  • Tournaments are open to the public. No experience required—HCB welcomes shooters of all ages and abilities, whether you're picking up a bow for the first time or competing seriously.

HCB offers specific divisions to match skill levels and equipment:

HCB enforces detailed range rules covering everything from equipment specifications to unsportsmanlike conduct:

  • No overdraws permitted in any class
  • Laser sights banned across all divisions
  • Draw checks and clickers allowed in traditional classes only
  • Archers must touch their assigned cone/stake with some part of their body before shooting
  • 2-minute time limit per shot
  • All scores must be recorded before moving to next target—no modifications after turn-in
  • No alcohol or illegal drugs on the shooting course or practice area
  • No firearms or crossbows allowed (except those with disabilities requiring crossbow use with board approval)
  • Unsportsmanlike conduct grounds for disqualification: includes falsifying scores, interfering with other shooters, littering, or projecting aiming lights on targets

Every September, HCB hosts their Annual Fun Shoot—a competitive 3D tournament ramped up for entertainment, plus games, auctions, raffles, and more. This is their primary fundraiser for the Youth Outdoor Awards Program. 100% of proceeds go directly to youth awards.

The club actively seeks donations for raffles and auctions. Accepted donations include archery/hunting supplies, gift certificates, restaurant or spa vouchers, sporting goods, camping gear, kids' toys, pet supplies, coolers, feeders, and vacation packages. Non-perishable donations can be dropped off at any regular event. HCB is a nonprofit, so donations are tax-deductible.

Hill Country Bow Hunters is built on family values and community. The organization's mission is simple: introduce kids to bowhunting, archery, and the outdoors. Adult and youth members, guests, and visitors participate in 3D shoots and hunts throughout Texas.

Current leadership includes President Tim Yohman, Vice President Eric "Jammer" Carlson, Secretary Charity Yohman, Treasurer Natasha Haskins, Tournament Director Chris Rodriguez, Youth Coordinator Natasha Haskins, and Facilities Manager Jared Bays.

Contact HCB at [email protected] or visit in person at 540 County Road 258, Liberty Hill, TX 78642. Find them on Facebook and Instagram for updates, photos, and tournament scores.

"We are more than an archery club or just an organization; we are a family-oriented group with strong family values. We are always looking for new friends to share our campfire."
