The Range at Austin

The Range at Austin is built for both seasoned shooters and complete beginners. Located on South IH-35, the facility features multiple shooting bays dedicated to pistols and rifles, a large retail space, and staff trained to help first-time gun owners navigate their options.

The Range operates as a hybrid facility: part shooting range, part retail shop, part training center. That means whether you're buying your first pistol, renting a machine gun for a bachelor party, or training toward a License to Carry, you can do it all under one roof.

Their structured training program runs on a belt system—White, Green, Blue, Purple—with progressive skill development.

What's Offered: - New Pistol Shooter class (for first-time owners and those revisiting basics) - License to Carry certification (state-mandated 4-6 hours, includes 50-round shooting test) - Specialized belt courses covering holster fundamentals, movement and shooting, low-light marksmanship, cover and concealment, and one-handed shooting from concealment - Private lessons and gift certificates - First class is free for new shooters

New Pistol Shooter Basics: This 2.5-hour intro covers firearm safety rules, safe loading/unloading, magazine loading, basic marksmanship, and live-fire drills under instructor supervision. Students bring their own semi-automatic pistol (.380, 9mm, .40, or .45) and 50 rounds of ammunition.
