Full description and what we offer
Utah High Country Outfitters & Archery operates guided hunts across multiple Utah units and seasons, with two dedicated specialists running the operation: Richard Bury (hunts: 435-749-4648) and James Allred (archery: 435-201-0813).
They offer guided hunts for eight major species across Utah's premier hunting territory:
- •Elk - Archery season (August through mid-September), early rifle/muzzle loader (mid-late September during the rut), and late season limited entry (November). Trophy bulls in the middle of the rut are their signature experience.
- •Cougar - November through May, snow or dirt hunting. They use well-trained hound packs, 4WD pickups, snowmobiles, and ATVs with GPS tracking collars on dogs.
- •Black Bear - Hound hunting year-round. Described as physically taxing but exceptionally exciting, with chances to see bears bayed up.
- •Mule Deer - Multiple units across Utah with phenomenal bucks. They offer free consultations on unit selection.
- •Bighorn Sheep (Desert) - They spend summers guiding wilderness trips into bighorn country to scout and learn the herds.
- •Turkey - The Utah turkey population has exploded in recent years, making these hunts consistently action-packed.
- •Bison - Book Cliffs and Henry Mountain units. Following herds is described as an awesome experience.
