Winchester Frederick County Conservation Club operates shooting ranges across multiple properties in the Winchester area, serving members with pistol, rifle, trap, and archery facilities. The club maintains strict range rules and welcomes competitive shooters of all skill levels.

Both pistol and rifle ranges open at 8 AM and close 30 minutes before sundown. The pistol range operates at 15 yards and requires paper targets only—no cans, bottles, water jugs, steel plates, or spinning targets. No shotguns, rifles, or AR platforms on the pistol range. The rifle range features two distance options: 50-yard and 100-yard targets, also paper-only.

Range Rules Apply to Both: - Members only—no guests permitted at shooting ranges - No fully automatic weapons or bump stocks - Paper targets only - Member volunteers maintain backing materials

Evening trap shoots run regularly with food service around 5:30 PM. Standard format: 4 rounds of 10 shots (2 rounds from 16 yards, 1 from 23 yards, 1 from 27 yards) for $20 total. Shooters bring their own shells. Payouts available for 10/10, 9/10, and sometimes 8/10 scores.

The archery facility is well-maintained with 5 shooting lanes plus a tree stand and crossbow bench (bring your own safety harness for tree stand use). Located past the picnic pavilion on a dirt road, the range is members and immediate family only—no guests. Shooters are asked to clean up targets and trash after use.

New enrollment opens June 15 each year. Members who sign up between June 15 and late October get extra months before the November 1 renewal cycle. If membership lapses past October 31, you pay the new member rate of $125 to rejoin.

The club also maintains a secondary property in Shenandoah County. Facilities include a picnic pavilion and children's playground alongside the shooting ranges.

Friday night stock shotgun shoots are open to the public—you don't need club membership to participate in evening trap events.

Club meetings held monthly at 6:30 PM (check calendar for exact dates). Members discuss range conditions, safety updates, and club business.
