Full description and what we offer
Darrington Archers started in 1979 when Marv Kastning, a local teacher and archery enthusiast, envisioned a permanent range for the community. What began as an idea grew into a facility spanning 240 acres of forested land owned jointly by Snohomish County Parks Department and the Darrington School District.
Kastning didn't just build a range—he designed it. His vision shows in details like the club's logo and "The Family of Archers" sculpture displayed in town, both originally designed by Kastning himself.
The range operates four permanent courses, each with 28 targets. That setup has made Darrington a serious tournament destination. The club hosted the World Archery Tournament in 1988 and continues to draw competitors for national outdoor tournaments.
One course stands out: the Dylan Range, recognized as the first handicapped-accessible 28-target outdoor range in the United States. This isn't a gimmick—it's genuine accessibility built into the design.
"The family of archers"—this isn't marketing language. It's how the club describes itself, and it shows in how they operate.
