Cascade Field & Stream Club has been around since 1934—one of the oldest clubs in the region. They started on Bullfrog Road between Cle Elum and Roslyn with 400 members. When that property was sold in 2000, the club purchased 184 acres on Hayward Hill between Cle Elum and Ellensburg with help from what's now Suncadia Resort.
This is a members-only club, but they do public outreach:
The real progress came after years of permitting work. In 2014, Kittitas County approved their Conditional Use Permit. That same year, they secured a $48,000 grant from the State Recreation and Conservation Office to build infrastructure—covered shooting stations, pathways, parking areas, and safety baffles on the rifle range. A wind power company also agreed to help with construction work, including building a large berm and leveling the rifle range area.
The club supports the Easton School Archery Program, Hope Source, and offers a $1,000 annual scholarship for Upper Kittitas County High School seniors.
They host an annual fundraiser banquet on the last Saturday of February at the Putnam Centennial Center in Cle Elum, featuring live and silent auctions, raffles, and dinner.
General meetings and orientations happen at the range. The club operates all-volunteer, so check their calendar and FAQ before reaching out—they're transparent about what's happening and when.
