Spokane JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) is a nationwide USA Archery program designed specifically for archers ages 8-18. This isn't a drop-in range—it's a structured coaching program where kids progress at their own pace from complete beginners to competitive archers preparing for Olympic trials.
You're working with serious credentials here. Coach Lee McEuen founded Spokane JOAD and brings 30 years of martial arts coaching plus three decades of archery experience starting back in Boy Scouts. Coach Wes Wilhelm is a world-level competitor with 30+ years coaching experience, USA Archery Level 4 certified, and serves as both coach and judge. Coach Marjee Clark runs the club day-to-day and emphasizes an "Athletes FIRST" coaching style focused on fun, integrity, resilience, and sportsmanship. Coaches Chris Clark and Jen Johnson round out the team with Level 3 certifications and specialized focus areas.
All coaches are SafeSport Certified.
Members progress through structured levels: - Beginners: Learn fundamental skills through instruction and games - Advancement: Earn awards for skill development and scoring achievements - Elite: Competition preparation and event training - Olympic Pathway: Coaching toward Olympic trials for serious competitors
No equipment required to start. The club provides all entry-level gear. As students advance and decide to continue, they can invest in their own equipment.
