Jefferson County Sportsmen's Association is a 501(c)(7) member club operating an outdoor shooting facility on a 43-acre parcel at 112 Gun Club Road south of Port Townsend, providing trap, handgun, rifle, and archery shooting since 1962 under special license with the county. The club counts more than 500 members from across the Olympic Peninsula.
The club runs twice-weekly trap shoots, twice-monthly Action Pistol meets, and monthly NRA/CMP-sanctioned high-power rifle matches, plus a wilderness trail set aside for archery practice. Non-members may take part in Saturday competitions, GSSF matches, NRA classes, and Appleseed events, and may use the archery trail.
JCSA hosts training and qualification for law enforcement agencies, including city police, the county sheriff, the Coast Guard, and the DEA, and provides facilities for NRA firearms safety programs and the state Fish and Wildlife's Hunter Education program. The club also hosts the Port Townsend chapter of A Girl and A Gun Club, a women's shooting group, and is affiliated with the NRA.
