FMC Sportsman's Club operates as a private membership organization serving shooters, archers, hunters, and outdoor enthusiasts across West Virginia. Located in Winfield, the club provides gated access to multiple shooting disciplines, hunting property, and camping facilities for dues-paying members only.
Membership ($300 annual dues + $150 assessment = $450 total) includes access to:
Retiree memberships available - Members age 62+ with 15+ years continuous membership can request retiree status.
The rifle range features gated access to control non-member shooting. All members must carry membership cards and sign in prior to shooting. Members may bring up to 4 guests at $5 per guest per visit (must be accompanied at all times). Warning: Shotguns are strictly prohibited at the rifle range; violations result in range privileges loss and possible membership termination.
The archery range includes a practice area and a 3-D course located on the 4-wheeler trail system. The 3-D course features multiple Rinehart and McKenzie animal targets with two shooting stations per target:
Field tips only - broadheads are prohibited on all targets. The shooting tower requires shooters to be 12+ years old (with parent supervision for younger shooters) and limits occupancy to two people max with combined weight under 350 pounds.
Skeet Ranges #3 and #4 are currently operational for clay target shooting. The club has installed throwers in high and low houses on Range #4, operated by board-approved trappers only:
Members supply their own targets or use club targets at 10¢ each or $2.50 per round. Portable throwers must be used when approved trappers aren't operating the fixed equipment. Members only - no guests allowed on skeet ranges.
FMC property spans both sides of Route 35 with dedicated hunting grounds. All hunters must:
Temporary Camping (2025 rates): - 10 RV sites with water, electric, sewer: $25/night, $125/week, $350/month (sites C7-C10) - 5 tent sites with electric: $10/night - All temporary sites include firepits; firewood available at $10 for 30 pieces or $25 per crate - Reserve online or contact Ralph Winter (304-545-4638, [email protected])
Long-Term Camping: - Annual fee: $450 (May 1 - April 30) - Waiting list available; updated twice yearly (January & June) - Grass cutting required minimum every 3 weeks (April 5 - Sept 30) - All campsites have sewer; backflow prevention devices and water pressure regulators required - Assessment conducted annually on patios, wheel pads, water/electric/sewer systems
Camper Storage: - Annual storage fee: $250 - 6-month minimum occupancy requirement - Proof of insurance and liability release required - Waiting list available

New Member Waiting List: Membership is limited. Sign-ups available at multiple dates throughout the year at Shelter #3. Contact the club or board members for current availability.
All members must acknowledge release of liability and assumption of risk for use of club property and facilities. The club prioritizes member safety through gated range access, sign-in protocols, closure procedures during hunting seasons, and strictly enforced speed limits.
