Full description and what we offer
America's Gunsmith Shop operates two locations in Wisconsin—Kenosha and Burlington—with a team of professional gunsmiths trained to handle everything from basic maintenance to complex custom builds. The operation isn't a mom-and-pop shop. They warranty their work, maintain the nation's largest repair capabilities, and process hundreds of firearms annually.
Setup & Installation - Scope mounting and boresighting - Sling installation - Butt plate adjustment (like Graco adjustable plates) - Basic firearm preparation for range or field use
Maintenance & Cleaning Firearms receive field stripping, disassembly, inspection, cleaning, lubrication, and reassembly. The team cleans and inspects thousands of firearms annually—removing dirt, grime, carbon, lead, and corrosion. Every firearm is safety-checked and test-fired before return.
Repair Services The gunsmiths diagnose and fix: - Failure to fire issues - Feeding problems - Ejection malfunctions - General mechanical repairs
Custom Modifications - Rebarreling rifles - Suppressor installation - Recoil reduction and recoil pad installation - Full custom builds to specification
Cerakote & Finishes Customize your firearm's appearance with modern finishes: - Cerakote in popular camo patterns - Hand-rubbed oil finishes - Sprayed lacquer - High-gloss Weatherby-style finish - Soft-touch coating (new option) - Professional bluing restoration
Laser Engraving & Customization - Memorial and commemorative engraving - Custom graphics on long guns, pistols, and AR-15 platforms - Engraving on wood, steel, aluminum, and acrylic
Wood Restoration Professional wood finishing options including hand-rubbed oil, sprayed lacquer, and gloss finishes restore vintage firearms to like-new condition.
"With over 136 years of combined experience, America's Gunsmith Shop has a fantastic team. We are able to share each other's specialties and work together to get the job done." — Jack Rubach, Lead Gunsmith
Jack Rubach completed his training at the Colorado School of Trades and worked over 30 years for one of the nation's leading gunsmiths in Northern Wisconsin before leading the team at America's Gunsmith Shop.
Roy Christensen, who owns the operation, brings Midwest farm values and three decades of gunsmithing experience. His mission is straightforward: "We're here to help people. If us helping people means they are able to better enjoy the outdoors or are able to better protect their families, than we've done our job."
Shipping a gun for service is straightforward: 1. Place your order online 2. Receive a prepaid shipping label via email 3. Box your unloaded firearm and drop it off at your carrier
Drop-off locations available in both Kenosha and Burlington for local customers.

| "I sent in my gun to get Cerakoted, and they estimated a month because they had to special order the cerakote I wanted. I had my gun back within two weeks tops. The cerakote is clean, beautiful, and EXACTLY what I wanted." | Rhyanna Resley |
| "Couldn't be happier with the service and attention to detail from the gunsmiths at the Kenosha shop. We had a Graco adjustable butt plate installed on my son's Blaser F3. The attention to fitting it to the contour of the stock is fantastic." | Theodore Bush |
| "I recently shipped an old Model 24 Savage Over and Under that belonged to my Dad. It was in pitiful shape and would not even break open. What I got back was amazing—in working order with a new finish. The cost was VERY reasonable." | Ron Barnes |
