Full description and what we offer
Joe's Clays is a family-run sporting clays facility located in rural Reedsville, Wisconsin, offering premier clay shooting experiences for shooters of all skill levels. Founded in 1995 by Joe and Patti Schmatz, the operation has grown from a modest setup with hand throwers to a full-featured shooting destination.
Joe's Clays specializes in sporting clays, a dynamic shooting discipline that mimics the experience of hunting game birds. The sport is often described as "golf with a shotgun," where shooters move through nine stations attempting to hit clay targets launched at varying angles and distances. The facility also offers:
Joe Schmatz is a certified NSCA Level 1 instructor, making Joe's Clays an excellent choice for beginners and newcomers to the sport. Instruction sessions are available at reasonable rates. The facility actively supports youth shooting teams and hosts numerous community events, including an annual Toys for Tots fundraiser.
The 9-station course is walkable but can be navigated via rental golf carts for those preferring motorized transport. A round of sporting clays costs $20 for 50 targets. The facility stocks 12, 16, 20, 28, and .410 gauge shotgun shells. Note that cash or ATM payment is required.
Joe's Clays hosts registered shoots, fun shoots, and fundraisers throughout the year, including SCTP Kids Shoots, Father's Day competitions, Labor Day events, and spooky Halloween-themed shoots.
Joe is a certified MEC dealer offering demo and used clay target traps for purchase, making the facility a resource for equipment upgrades and maintenance.
