Established in 1929, La Crosse Rifle Club operates a private gated facility with a 600-yard rifle range and two pistol ranges. This is not a public "show up and shoot" operation—membership is required, and the club maintains tight control over who uses the facility and when.
The club runs multiple competitive programs throughout the year:
Current membership is capped at 100. Applicants must be sponsored by a current member in good standing and submit a $50 non-refundable application fee in person at a monthly club meeting. The waiting list typically runs about three years.
Once approved by the board, membership costs are $175/year plus a one-time $87.50 initiation fee.
