Full description and what we offer
Stock Doc has been repairing and restoring gun stocks since 1975, and they do it differently than most gunsmiths. Where others strip, steam, or completely refinish damaged wood, Stock Doc uses a lacquer patching method that matches the original color and finish without extending past the damaged section.
This matters because complete refinishing can tank a firearm's value. Professional restoration is value-neutral—it fixes the problem without destroying what makes the gun worth something.
You can mail stocks to them (not complete firearms), or catch them on the road. Stock Doc travels throughout the country doing repairs at gun shops and gun clubs. They also schedule on-site restoration clinics at gun shops by appointment.
Not ready to ship it out? Stock Doc sells Nu Blu gun metal bluing and a comprehensive Gun Stock Repair & Restoration Kit that includes:
Customers report making virtually undetectable repairs within 2 hours using their kit. All products have YouTube tutorials.
"Your work is amazing! I can't stop watching your instructional videos. My skills have increased tenfold already by starting to use your products and techniques. Now I can't wait to get more gun wood jobs." — Paul T., Syracuse, UT
A dent or scratch doesn't have to mean a trip to the refinisher. Stock Doc's method is fast, affordable, and keeps the original finish intact—which means buyers and sellers both come out ahead.
