North Bristol Sportsmans Club

North Bristol Sportsman's Club started as a trap shooting operation in 1971, then relocated to its current location in 1973 for expanded facilities and better safety control. Today, it's a full-service sportsmen's club offering trap, skeet, rifle, handgun, and archery shooting—all open to members and non-members.

The club maintains 4 dedicated trap fields plus 1 combination trap/skeet field, all equipped with voice-activated throwing machines. Trap shooting here means shooting from 5 stations at clay targets—25 birds per round. You can shoot from the standard 16-yard line all the way back to 27 yards, or try doubles if you're feeling confident.

Skeet combines incoming, outgoing, and crossing targets thrown from high and low houses. Unlike trap's single shooting stations, skeet keeps your reflexes sharp with varied shot angles.

• •Trap Leagues run year-round:
• •Winter/Spring: Monday evenings (individual scoring)
• •Summer: Monday and Wednesday evenings (5-person teams)
• •Fall: Wednesday evenings (5-person teams)

Each league night you shoot 50 birds: 25 at 16-yard targets and 25 at handicap distance. Teams are typically groups of friends or coworkers. Spring league starts March 1st; summer registration opens May 1st.

The rifle range is a safe, comfortable setup for long-range practice. Range Safety Officers required for all non-members and members without First Shots certification.

Open shooting hours: - Thursdays: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM - 1st and 3rd Saturdays: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM - Sundays: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

• •Non-member fee: $15/hour ($15 minimum). Eye and ear protection required. Targets available for $1 each at the rifle house.

The pistol range accommodates basically any caliber handgun and rimfire rifles. Range Safety Officers required for all non-members.

Open shooting hours: - Thursdays: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM - 1st and 3rd Saturdays: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM - Sundays: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

• •Non-member fee: $15/hour ($15 minimum). Foam ear protectors ($1), safety glasses ($5), and targets ($1) available at the range.

• •Classic Rimfire Challenge – Open to members and non-members. Runs Thursday evenings at 4:00 PM and select Saturdays (check calendar). Registration through Practiscore.com. No open shooting allowed during scheduled events.

• •Youth Group League – Meets Wednesdays starting in March. Register at [email protected].

• •Pistol League – Monthly competitive league shooting. Check calendar for dates.

• •3-Gun Competition – Monthly Saturday events, 8 AM–4 PM. Shoot pistol (.22 to .45 caliber), shotgun (12g or 20g with 7½ bird shot), and AR-15 (5.56/.223 non-green tip). Friday setup at 5 PM. Courses work for beginners and experienced shooters alike.

A practice range with varied distances for novice and experienced archers. Field points only on the range unless shooting your own targets. Broadheads prohibited. Non-member fee: $15. Archers encouraged to take their time and shoot safely.

• •Quad County Chain Shoot – Multi-club trap series rotating through Deerfield, NBSC, Portage, Columbus, Sauk, and WI River locations.

• •NSSF First Shots Program – Firearms safety orientation required for member pistol range use (not required for rifle range).

• •Hunters' Education & Training – Offered to club members and the public.

• •Member Appreciation Day – Annual event celebrating the membership.

Both members and non-members can use the ranges. Non-member shooting fees apply ($15/hour minimum). The club encourages competitive and recreational shooters of all ages from youth to senior shooters.
