Table Mountain Outfitters has been running guided hunts for over 25 years, operating out of Cheyenne, Wyoming under licenses GL#029 and ID#11531. They conduct full-time outfitting operations—this is all they do—with a focus on trophy animals across multiple species and hunt types.
Wyoming Hunts: - Antelope – Rifle spot-and-stalk (Oct 1–31) or archery over water holes (Aug 15–30). Archery hunts offer 90-100% opportunity rates from ground blinds - Mule Deer – Rifle and archery hunts (Sept 1–Nov 20) with 95-100% success rates. Spot-and-stalk from 4WD vehicles on private ranches. Trophy animals range 22–28 inches - Elk – Guided hunts on large private ranches
Idaho Hunts: - Black Bear – Spring and early season hunts in Southwest Idaho mountains using hounds and bait stations. Approximately 80% of bears harvested are color-phase (not typical black) - Mountain Lion – Guided hunts in Idaho's mountain regions
All hunts operate on a 2×1 hunter-to-guide ratio (except archery antelope and deer in blinds, where hunters hunt solo). Hunts take place on thousands of acres of private ranches with little to no hunting pressure—meaning good opportunity for trophy animals mid-season and late-season, not just opening day.
Guides are experienced in their respective hunt areas and provide strong recommendations on when to shoot, though the decision is ultimately yours. Physical fitness is strongly encouraged; the better shape you arrive in, the more successful the hunt can be.
Table Mountain operates three bunkhouse locations: - Douglas Bunkhouse - Cheyenne Bunkhouse - Idaho Bunkhouse (Black Hills area historic lodge)
Hunters arrive the evening before their hunt and typically stay in a hotel on the final night (unless still hunting). The Black Hills lodge usually has space for the last night stay.
All trophy heads are properly caped and frozen to ensure excellent condition for taxidermy. TMO can deliver trophies to their preferred taxidermist or prepare them for transport to your own taxidermist. For meat care, experienced guides ensure proper handling, with options for local meat processing, quartering for transport home, or use of stainless steel tables for DIY processing and packaging.
Important: Do not purchase airline tickets until after successfully drawing your tag. Draw success varies; TMO is not responsible for airline changes due to early bookings.

Deposit Requirements: 50% down plus license fees due before application deadline. All deposits are non-refundable once the outfitter applies for your license, as the limited draw process prevents replacing spots. Trip cancellation insurance is strongly recommended.
Critical Change: Wyoming no longer allows preference point purchases during the application drawing. You must purchase preference points separately between July 1 – October 31 each year. Points are attached to your Sportsman's ID (SPID) and accumulate over years to improve draw odds.
Applications are personally submitted to Wyoming Game and Fish by the outfitter. Elk drawing deadline: Jan 31 (results mid-May). Deer/Antelope first deadline: May 31 (results late June). Most hunts are fully booked before the application deadline.
Wyoming: Hunter orange required for big game (waist-up exterior garment). Anyone born after Jan 1, 1966 must carry proof of hunter safety certification.
Idaho: No hunter orange required. Anyone born after Jan 1, 1975 must have hunter safety to purchase a license. Purchase licenses on arrival (Cabela's, Walmart, or Sportsman's Warehouse in Boise).
TMO recommends bringing warm, quiet jackets, waterproof leather boots, good optics (they use Trijicon rifle scopes and Kowa Optics binoculars), rain gear, Thermacell for scent control, ALPS Outdoorz day packs, Havalon hunting knives, extra ammunition or arrows, and proper layering (wool or flannel shirts, heavy wool socks). Archery hunters should bring face paint, dark clothing for blind hunting, and laser rangefinders.
Absolutely no drinking and hunting. Hunters may consume alcohol during the day but must remain in camp. No firearms are allowed to be handled, cleaned, displayed, or shot while alcohol is being consumed. Evening drinking in moderation is allowed, but excessive behavior results in being left behind or asked to leave. TMO operates a safe, family-friendly atmosphere at all times. Pets are not allowed on ranches or at bunkhouses.
