Full description and what we offer
Kenai Peninsula Archers started with a handful of shooters—Bill & Sheryl Woodin, Charlie Black, Steve Latz, Gary Cason, Dave Hopkins and others—who wanted to build an archery community on the Kenai Peninsula. They tried renting a heated indoor facility but costs proved prohibitive, so they worked with the City of Kenai to lease property near the airport. That worked until 1992 when Beacon moved in for fire training. The club then partnered with the Kenai Peninsula Borough to secure their current home on Arc Loop Road in Soldotna, where they've built something that's lasted decades.
The club welcomes all ages and shooting skills. Some members have served for over 30 years, and that experience runs deep in the organization.
KPA hosts regular member meetings and annual events: - Monthly general membership meetings with social activities (like May's BBQ) - Independence Day 3-D Shoot (typically early July) - Competitive scoring opportunities
"Without our members and volunteers, none of this would be possible." — KPA
