Martinez Gun Club, founded in 1883, is one of the oldest gun clubs in America, located at 900 Waterbird Way in Martinez, California. It operates as a shotgun-only range open to the public, offering Trap, Skeet, Bunker, 5-Stand, and ZZ Bird, the last restricted to 7½ or 8 shot with lead permitted.
The club hosts several youth shotgun programs: its own California Youth Shooting Sports Association trap team for participants in 12th grade or younger, taught by certified coaches with an emphasis on safety and sportsmanship; the De La Salle Trap Club and Berean Christian High Trap Club, which both practice on site; and a 4-H Shotgun Project serving youth ages 9 through 18 to build self-confidence, discipline, and safe firearms handling.
Loaner shotguns are available at the club, and ammunition can be purchased in the clubhouse or brought by shooters. The club also holds monthly club shoots for members and their guests.
