Cameo Shooting and Education Complex opened in August 2018 as a full-service outdoor shooting facility located just east of Grand Junction off Interstate 70 at exit 45. The facility handles pistol, rifle, archery, and shotgun sports in one location.

  • Pistol/Rifle Ranges with bays from 20-200 yards
  • Long Range Precision Range extending 100-2,000 yards (reservations required)
  • Archery Bay 10-65 yards
  • 3D Archery Loops for field practice
  • Sporting Clays & 5-Stand courses
  • Steel Target Areas with dedicated maps and layouts

CSEC is open to the public with no reservations needed for standard shooting bays. Winter hours (October 15 - March 14) are 8am-4pm for pistol/rifle/archery ranges, 8am-3:30pm for sporting clays, and 9am-3pm for long-range precision.

Reservations for the Long Range Precision Range must be scheduled at least two days in advance but no more than one month ahead. Call (970) 464-1339.

CSEC hosts Hunter Education, Bowhunter Education, and shooting courses including pistol, rifle, sporting clays, and archery instruction. Competition formats include IDPA, USPSA, Steel Challenge, 3-Gun, and specialized events like the Long Ranger Club matches and PRO22 Precision Rimfire monthly competitions.

No tracer, incendiary, armor-piercing (black tip), or penetrator (green tip) ammunition permitted—these rounds damage steel targets and create fire hazards. Generally, if the projectile attracts a magnet, it's prohibited.

As of July 1, 2025, firearms must be cased when not actively in use on the range.
