Full description and what we offer
Cheyenne Mountain State Park's archery operation sits in the foothills southwest of Colorado Springs, just south of the main park entrance along Highway 115 and Pine Oaks Road. The facility splits into three distinct ranges to match different archer needs.
Beginner archers and young shooters start here. The novice range features 20-yard targets and limits draw weight to 35 pounds maximum—designed specifically for archers learning fundamentals or building confidence.
Experienced archers get serious at the 10 competition-style lanes, with targets ranging from 10 to 80 yards. All lanes are covered, protecting shooters from weather and summer heat.
The signature attraction: a mile-long course with high-quality Rhinehart animal targets—moose, bear, deer, elk, and wild turkeys—positioned along a well-groomed hiking trail. Shooting angles and distances mimic real hunting scenarios. It's part practice range, part cardio workout.

The 3-D course works great as turkey season prep—live gobblers in the woods give you realistic shooting practice before Colorado's season opens.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife expanded its archery range operations to support surging demand from new archers. The facility welcomes all ages and experience levels, making it accessible for everyone from first-timers to bowhunters prepping for big game.
