Denver's archery scene runs the full spectrum—from free public ranges to private clubs to indoor facilities with 44 lanes. Whether you're prepping for elk season (bow hunting starts in September, way before rifle season) or just want to shoot recurve bows for fun, there's a range that fits.
Bear Creek Archery (Englewood) runs a pro shop with 16 lanes on a 20-yard range. They rent equipment, sell gear, and offer Saturday morning beginner classes. High-tech setup with camera and TV system so you can see exactly where you're hitting. Good for groups and corporate outings.
No Limits Archery (Commerce City) is the heavyweight—44 indoor lanes out to 40 yards, plus outdoor targets to 100 yards when weather allows. Pro shop rents and sells equipment. Beginner recurve classes are $30 with instruction and gear included, Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings.
Empty Quiver Archery (Broomfield) specializes in beginner programs. Thursday and Saturday classes are $25 with equipment rental included. Hour and a half long. Three instructors per class and 28 lanes means you won't be crowded out.
Rocky Mountain Arsenal Archery Range (East Denver) is free and federally operated by US Fish and Wildlife Service on the wildlife refuge. Ten lanes from 10 to 60 yards. Bring your own equipment—no lessons, no rentals. DIY operation.
Golden High Country Archers (Golden) is private membership (~$150/year) with both 3D and traditional targets. Members only, capped membership, currently restricted to Golden residents or active duty military. They host public benefit shoots if you want to scope it out first.
Archery Games Denver (Broomfield) offers something different—Archery Dodgeball on an indoor field using recurve bows and foam-tipped arrows. Fifteen-minute practice session first, then games. Works for complete beginners and experienced archers looking to practice differently.
