Purdue Trap & Skeet Club

Purdue Trap and Skeet Club operates a shooting range at 1545 S River Road, West Lafayette, IN 47906 that welcomes shooters of all skill levels. The range is open Fridays 3pm-9pm and Sundays 12pm-6pm, with consistent range openings on both days most weeks.

Three Shooting Disciplines: - Trap shooting - Skeet shooting - 5-Stand clay courses

Their regular "Range Opening" events are designed for beginners—they explicitly state "no shooting experience needed; we have everything you need to get started." If you don't own gear or have never shot clays, you can show up and participate the same day.

Beyond casual range days, PTSC hosts ATA Big 50 competitions that include: - 50 singles trap - 50 handicap trap - 25 pairs of doubles on trap

These sanctioned events typically run 12pm-6pm on Saturdays and draw shooters beyond the Purdue community.

PTSC fields a competitive shooting team that hosts open tryouts multiple times per year (typically in September and January). No prior experience required—they provide all equipment for tryouts. Costs for games match regular range pricing. The range closes to the public during team tryouts.
