Mill Creek Rifle Club operates dedicated shooting facilities across their DeSoto property, including:
All illuminated ranges (10-yard, 25-yard, 25-yard North, 15-yard, and northwest Benchrest section) support shooting from 6 AM to 10 PM daily. Member-supplied clay target holders and user-built PVC/wood stands with cardboard targets are permitted throughout the facility.
Mill Creek partners with instructor Mark Sherman to deliver NRA-certified courses at $120-$130 per course for members—discounted from standard pricing. Scheduled offerings include:

Members get special pricing on ammunition reloading courses through NRA-certified instruction. New to the reloading bench? The club offers beginner-focused courses throughout the year.
Back for 2025: CPR/AED/Stop the Bleed training taught by Chris White, a 20+ year veteran of the Kansas City Kansas Fire Department. Sessions use American Heart Association's Heartsaver CPR AED program materials. When response times exceed 30+ minutes in your area, immediate first responder knowledge saves lives.
Mill Creek hosts Spring shooting classes introducing members to long-range rifle at 200, 300, and 600 yards. Hands-on instruction covers precision shooting fundamentals on club property with multiple range distances available.
2026 membership renewal is now open. New incentive: Renew before February 1 to enter drawing for $100.
Renewal options: - Online: Complete application and pay by credit card via secure portal (active anytime before May 31) - Traditional: Download PDF form, complete, and mail with check payment
Gate cards (ID badges) remain active until May 31 deadline. Keep your NRA membership card handy during renewal—proof of current NRA status is required.
Access & Hours: - Members must scan ID badge at gate - Hours: 6 AM to 10 PM (illuminated ranges only after dark) - 10 mph speed limit on property - No driving or parking on cropland
Shooting Requirements: - Eye and ear protection mandatory near any firing line - Firearms arrive/depart unloaded in cases (CCW/OCW exceptions allowed if holstered) - Warning devices (lights/flags) required when downrange - Only paper targets or club-approved materials (rubber, balloons) - Steel targets permitted with valid MCRC steel license displayed - Non-aerial clay targets with member-supplied holders only - Tannerite and binary explosives prohibited - Incendiary or tracer ammunition prohibited - Fully automatic firearms prohibited except board-approved events - Initial zeroing limited to 25 yards or less - Drawing/re-holstering from loaded state on concrete pads prohibited
Guest Policy: - Guests must register in clubhouse upon entry - One member can accompany one guest shooting at a time - Member is responsible for guest adherence to all rules
Prohibited on Ranges: - Alcohol consumption and firearm handling under influence - Rimfire on Benchrest and High Power ranges - Rifles/carbines with barrels longer than 10 inches on 15-yard range - Shotguns outside designated areas (Shotgun Field, LE ranges, Pistol Bays 4-5)

Mill Creek is private, not open to the public. Event participants, organizers, observers, and law enforcement may attend board-approved events. Non-members interested in joining can visit the Membership Information page for application details.
