Full description and what we offer
BREC's Outdoor Adventure department manages public archery facilities as part of a broader outdoor recreation mission serving East Baton Rouge Parish residents. The program focuses on introducing archery skills and building progressive competency through structured classes and open-access ranges.
| Location | Address | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Claycut Bayou Park | 6998 Antioch Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70817 | Practice range + field range, target butts available |
| Plank Road Park | 19550 Plank Road, Zachary, LA 70791 | Practice range + field range, target butts available |
Participation is FREE to the public at both ranges during regular hours. Target butts are available for daily public use.
No equipment rentals are available at either archery range location. However, most Baton Rouge-area sporting goods stores carry archery gear if you want to bring your own equipment. All instructional classes provide full equipment, so beginners don't need to own anything to get started.
Registration for Outdoor Adventure programs happens through BREC's online portal. The system requires enrollment at least 24 hours before program start dates. Email [email protected] for program questions or call BREC main line at 225-272-9200 (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm).
Follow BREC Outdoor Adventure on Facebook and Instagram for monthly program updates and team news.
Archery is part of BREC's comprehensive Outdoor Adventure offerings, which also include paddle sports (kayaking at multiple lake locations), running/mountain biking trails (Comite River/Kerry Stamey Trails and Hooper Road/Sharon Hills Bike Trails), and seasonal events throughout the year.
