| Location | Address | Details |
|---|---|---|

| Plank Road Park | 19550 Plank Road, Zachary, LA 70791 | Practice range + field range, target butts available |
Participation is FREE to the public at both ranges during regular hours. Target butts are available for daily public use.
- •Archery Academy - Full beginner curriculum for learners with no prior experience. The 5-6 week session meets once weekly and covers bow parts, range rules, and practical shooting instruction. All equipment provided. This is the most comprehensive option for someone starting from zero.
- •Archery 101 - One-time introductory class designed to explore archery fundamentals. Open to ages 16+. BREC provides all necessary equipment. Shorter commitment than Academy but covers the same basics.
- •Archery 101 Jr. - Same introductory-level instruction as Archery 101, but specifically for ages 8-15. Equipment provided by BREC.
No equipment rentals are available at either archery range location. However, most Baton Rouge-area sporting goods stores carry archery gear if you want to bring your own equipment. All instructional classes provide full equipment, so beginners don't need to own anything to get started.
Registration for Outdoor Adventure programs happens through BREC's online portal. The system requires enrollment at least 24 hours before program start dates. Email [email protected] for program questions or call BREC main line at 225-272-9200 (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm).
Follow BREC Outdoor Adventure on Facebook and Instagram for monthly program updates and team news.
Archery is part of BREC's comprehensive Outdoor Adventure offerings, which also include paddle sports (kayaking at multiple lake locations), running/mountain biking trails (Comite River/Kerry Stamey Trails and Hooper Road/Sharon Hills Bike Trails), and seasonal events throughout the year.
