Full description and what we offer
The Mt. Airy Chapter of the Izaak Walton League is an all-volunteer nonprofit conservation and shooting club operating over 150 acres of dedicated shooting sports facilities.
Thursday nights feature open skeet and trap shooting (5:30p–8:30p). The club hosts skeet leagues (multiple seasons), trap leagues (summer), 22 rimfire events, 5-stand competitions, steel pistol shoots, and monthly all-gauge events.
Hunting is permitted on club property during season. The IWLA's mission centers on conserving and restoring natural resources—they manage an Adopt a Road program and Save Our Streams initiatives.
Club adopted a concealed carry policy in September 2024. Check the calendar before visiting—events rotate throughout the year.
Membership meetings held monthly with meals provided. Volunteer-run operation keeps costs reasonable for serious shooters.
