Founded in Spring 1940, Holbrook Sportsmen's Club has spent over eight decades building one of Massachusetts' most complete shooting sports facilities. What started as a clay target club has expanded into a 210-acre complex supporting everything from casual range time to sanctioned competitions.
Members access a full-service clubhouse and ranges built for multiple shooting sports:
Outdoor Facilities: - 100-yard multi-use rifle range - Dedicated 100-yard rifle range - 200-meter rifle range - 75-foot outdoor pistol range - Five trap fields (ATA sanctioned) - Skeet field with 5-stand and rabbit machine - Steel pit for action shooting - Archery range extending to 100 yards - 30-station 3D archery course
Indoor Facilities: - Two indoor pistol ranges (50 feet and 75 feet) - Full-service clubhouse
Members are welcome to practice on any range and encouraged to participate in competitive events hosted by the club.
Holbrook runs sanctioned matches across multiple disciplines:

New shooters get orientation and safety materials, including guides and video instruction. Safety is mandatory before handling firearms at the facility.
Three-Step Process: 1. Online application + $50 deposit (applied to first-year dues) 2. Mandatory orientation & safety class + test 3. Attend general membership meeting for approval vote
- •Dues: First-year membership $330 (includes $150 initiation fee and $180 annual dues). Members can reduce dues through work party hours.
- •Guest Policy: Limited to 2 guests at a time, 3 visits per year. Guests must be supervised by an Associate Member or higher.
Holbrook enforces Jeff Cooper's Cardinal Rules of Firearms Safety across all ranges. The club uses video surveillance for range monitoring and empowers all members as range officers. Key safety requirements:
- •Eye and ear protection mandatory
- •Aimed fire only (no hip shooting or full auto)
- •Empty chamber indicators on all firearms when not in use
- •Cease-fire procedures with audible siren and warning lights
- •Junior members supervised at all times
- •Zero tolerance for alcohol or drug use
- •All federal and state firearm laws strictly enforced
