Full description and what we offer
Maspenock Rod & Gun Club was established as an informal organization in 1927 and formally incorporated in 1939 with 78 members. The club purchased its current 86-acre property in Milford that same year, and has been a fixture for sportsmen ever since.
The grounds include:
Whether you're new to the sport or experienced, trap is open to shooters of all levels:
| Shooter Type | Price (per round) | Punch Card |
|---|---|---|
| Members | $4.00 | $175 (50 rounds) |
| Non-members | $5.00 | $225 (50 rounds) |
| Juniors | $3.00 | — |
Hit a "smoking" clay and earn a free round. The club also hosts special events like the annual St. Paddy's Day shoot and a July "Merica" Shoot.
The club holds monthly member meetings (last Monday of each month) and mandatory walk-throughs for new applicants (second Saturday of each month, starting January 2025). You'll need two club sponsors to apply.
Throughout the year, Maspenock hosts fishing derbies in spring—separate events for kids and adults with prizes—and stocks the woods with pheasant each fall. The season wraps with a traditional September clambake.
Founded with purpose: The original charter aimed to "promote legitimate sport with rod and gun; aid in the enforcement of game laws; and stock the waters and surrounding covers with game."
Ranges are private and not open to the public, but the clubhouse is available for hall rentals to both members and non-members—perfect for events and gatherings.
